Accessibility

Accessibility statement

Utah Valley Periodontics and Dental Implants is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification, or who need reduced motion.

Conformance target

This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. That target guided the build rather than being assessed afterwards.

What we have done

  • Text and interface colours were checked against their backgrounds to meet AA contrast ratios.
  • Every page has a “skip to content” link, semantic landmarks, one main heading, and a heading structure that does not skip levels.
  • Every interactive component can be operated by keyboard alone. The before-and-after comparison sliders respond to arrow keys, Home and End; the FAQ accordion, procedure steps and case filters are all keyboard operable.
  • The mobile menu traps focus while open, closes with Escape, and returns focus to the button that opened it.
  • Focus indicators are visible and are never removed.
  • Every primary action — call buttons, consultation requests, menu items, accordion controls — is at least 44 pixels tall, and the phone number is tap-to-call everywhere it appears. Links inside sentences and in the footer lists are smaller, which WCAG 2.2 permits for inline text and adequately spaced links.
  • Animation is limited to short, once-only scroll reveals, and is disabled entirely when your device requests reduced motion.
  • Clinical photographs carry descriptive alt text stating what is visible in the image.
  • Page content, headings and links are written into the page itself, so the clinical information is readable without JavaScript. Some interactive components need it: the FAQ answers, the implant step-by-step sequence, and the case gallery filters. If JavaScript is unavailable to you and you need any of that content, call 801.221.7799 and we will read it to you or post it.

Known limitations

We would rather name these than imply they do not exist.

  • Video captions. Our procedure videos are hosted on YouTube and rely on YouTube's automatic captions, which are not always accurate for clinical terminology. If a video is important to your decision and the captions are inadequate, call us and we will talk you through the content directly.
  • Third-party services. Our new patient forms and online bill payment are operated by outside providers, and their accessibility is outside our control. If either is difficult for you to use, call the office and we will complete the same task with you over the phone or on paper.
  • Clinical photograph descriptions. Alt text describes what is visible in each photograph, but photographs of surgical results are inherently visual. If you would like a fuller verbal description of any case, ask us at your consultation.

Accessibility of our office

Our practice is at 1375 East 800 North, Suite 104, Orem, UT 84097, on the ground floor. Directions and parking guidance are here. If you have specific access needs for your visit — mobility, hearing, or anything else that would make the appointment easier — tell us when you book, and we will plan around them.

Tell us about a barrier

If you cannot access something on this site, or you find it difficult to use, we want to hear about it — it is the fastest way for us to fix it.

Call 801.221.7799, Monday–Thursday 8am–5pm or Friday 7am–3pm
Email receptionist@perioviews.com

Please describe the page and what you were trying to do. We aim to respond within two working days, and we will offer an alternative way to complete whatever you were trying to do in the meantime.

Please do not include detailed health information in an email — it is not a secure channel. For anything clinical, call the office.
